:dizzy:I AM CONFUSED PLEASE SOME ONE ANSWER THIS QUESTION!
I HAVE BEEN TOLD FOR 4 YEARS THAT I HAVE A GROWING AORTIC ANUERYSM. IN JULY 08 I HAD A HEART ATTACK (NO HEART DAMAGE) AND HAD 2 STENTS PLACED. I HAD HIGH CHOLESTROL, HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE,
AFTER STENTS PLACED TOOK MEDS FOR BOTH AND THEY ARE NORMAL NOW.
I RECENTLY HAD A CAT SCAN WITH DYE TO CHECK THE AORTIC ANUERYSM AND THEY NOW THEY IT IS TOTALLY GONE! IS THIS POSSIBLE AND IS IT FROM THE MEDS AND HAVING THE HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE AND CHOLESTROL UNDER CONTROL? CANT GET A STRAIGHT ANSWER FROM DOC!
ANY ANSWERS APPRECIATED.:dizzy:
THANKS
SHARON

i would think given the fact that the stents were placed(this was from some level of actual blockage i assume?) it problaly reduced that hypertension within the heart and then of cousre that main blood supply and the vessl walls which is what would have created that anuerysm in the first place kind of thing? ya know what i am trying to say here?

the one thing that still does need to be done from time to time tho is just some simple monitoring of that area that did have that weakened blood vessel wall where that aneurysm formed? it would still be a somewhat 'weakened' area just from the expansion it had before the stents were placed. it is really amazing tho that this just subsided like it did. i am sure it just releived that back pressure within thata rtery when the stents were placed tho,it would make the most sense given the extra pressure that would have just been there if you did have some blockage there ya know? i went thru a brain aneurysm nightmare myself so i can relate to THAT fear. but like i mentioned, just have that particular area monitored from time to time. with the stents there they will be needing to monitor the overall velocity and bloodflow now, just becasue stents can become a bit narrowed or clogged? i am assuming you are now on at least low dose aspirin or some other blood thinner to try and keep this from occuring? i am sure they will take continuing looks at the the previous aneurysm location when you go in to have the stents checked. unfortunetly since it has already bulged out, it will always be a bit weakened area of vessel wall. but it does sound like they did all the right things there.

you are one lucky gal tho, that does not occur very often with a triple A. someone above is most definitely looking out for you sharon. good luck and please keep me posted on how things are going. FB
