AOL's Top 25 Animated Films List

Well, considering Pixar's movies are in large vastly superior...

The only Disney movies I like better than any Pixar movies are Robin Hood and Treasure Planet, and neither one of those are exactly favorites with critics, or even Disney fans in general.

I would've put a few more foreign movies in that list, like The King and the Bird, Paprika, Kirikou and the Sorceress or Persepolis. Good animated films are not exclusive to america or Disney.

Lists suck, they always leave something deserving out which pisses people off, then they include popular stuff which isn't deserving which pisses even more people off.

Personally, I'd swap Mononoke for Nausicaa, and trade it's spot in the order with Spirited Away. And it probably should have at least a couple more non-Miyazaki anime on there (like Akira or Perfect Blue or End of Eva).

If I ever do a list of my favorite animated movies, than "Wallace & Gromit: Wrong Trousers" will end up in the top 10. Heck, all the "W & G" shorts would propably get to share a spot, but "Wrong Trousers" is my personal favorite.

"Kirikou" needs to be on the list as well, and how come I never see "Castle of Cagliostro" on these "greatest animated movies" lists? I guess it's not as sophisticated as Miyazaki's later works but that doesn't stop it from being one of the best adventure movies ever made (at least in this person's opinion).

 - Its obvious they were biased by choosing 90% Disney animated films. Other than the Incredibles and a few others, that list is a joke.

No Batman animated films??? Phantasm? ROTJ?

:raven: - Pffft.

You need to keep in mind that, while Phantasm actually had a chance, ROTJ is a direct-to-video feature and is obviously going to be ignored (the fact that the weaker edited version is more widely available doesn't help either). Expecting it to show up is almost like expecting FLCL to show up.

Anyway, this list could have been way worse. Like this list: http://movies.yahoo.com/summer-movies/Kung-Fu-Panda/1809826133/photos/358/9268/#info

Seriously? Over the Hedge? Ice Age 2?
