I have a palm T3 and a T|X and purchased aol 3.2 for both. The T3 has a wifi card and the T|X has built in wifi. I have linksys router for a wireless home network. When I activate the wifi on both pda's they find and connect to the router. When I try to log on to aol (with the aol software) I get the same error message on both. "nonexistant DNS name (0x123E)"
Can anyone help get on line? Thanks

Hi bingjer and welcome to the board. I found this page in the Palm, Inc. Support Knowledge Library and at the end of the message I provided a link to a AOL Help page:

Getting help with an AOL (America Online) account

AOL? is a third-party service of America Online, Inc. You may be able to use a variety of AOL's services on your Palm? handheld, including AOL Mail and AOL instant messaging. Visit MyMobile.AOL.com for more information.

Palm does not provide technical support for AOL accounts. If you need help setting up an AOL account on your device, or have other questions about using AOL with your device, please contact AOL.

Get AOL mail through VersaMail or other handheld client
In addition to their proprietary email system, AOL (American Online) offers a service called Open Mail Access that lets you check email using IMAP, which is supported by VersaMail. Open Mail Access lets you get AOL email on your handheld or smartphone. Use these settings:

* Incoming mail server: imap.aol.com
* Outgoing mail server: smtp.aol.com
* (Advanced) Incoming Server Port Number: 143
* (Advanced) Outgoing Server Port Number: 587

For more information, see AOL Help article 217449: "Can I read and send AOL e-mail using other e-mail applications?"

In my brief ownership of the T|X, I quickly discovered that AIM for Palm did NOT work with the T|X, and threw it into a soft reset loop that wouldn't stop until I did a warm reset and deleted the app. This same AIM software works fine on my T|C, T|2, etc.

I think you have something different with the whole AOL suite or something, but if their stand-alone AIM client is this incompatible with the T|X, it would not surprise me that the AOL suite has problems, too.

It's probable that AOL has not modified AOL Mobile 3.2 for the T|X as of yet. Your best bet may be to uninstall the software, soft reset, and then reinstall. I've never used AOL's software, so I can't say for sure, but my guess is that Palm changed something about how the network settings are configured on the T|X and therefore AOL's software can't interface with the changes. Since you're an AOL subscriber, please call them or set up an online chat to ask them further questions regarding this issue.
