Anywhere that I can jailbreak my ipod?

I have an iPod touch and I love it!!!! And my hacker friend on playstation network says that I can jailbreak my iPod. So I've been trying I found a good thing to use it's called redsnow I downloaded it and it said it was tethered. So I looked up what that meant and it means you have to use your computer to boot up your iPod. So I'm looking for an untethered version of anything for my iPod. I'm not patient
