Anyway To Backup Contacts From AT&T 3G HSDPA SIM Cards?

I see devices sold all over the place that claim they can backup the contacts on a GSM SIM card, but since AT&T is now using HSDPA SIM cards; would these devices work the same? When I asked AT&T about this, they told me about their Mobile Backup service (Which Is Being Turned Off Completely Soon). So even that option is not really an option anymore.

So would a GSM SIM card backup device be able to access the more advanced 3G cards?
 
The Mobile Backup does not backup any SIM card. It backs up contacts stored in the phone's internal memory. Why would one want to backup contacts on a SIM card? The SIM card itself is a backup. The contacts on any SIM card can be copied into the phone's internal memory and from there to another SIM card.

There is no such thing as an HSDPA SIM card.
 
Years ago when I had T-Mobile my phone and SIM card were ruined in the rain and I lost over 100 contacts. So it took me over an hour to put them all back into a new phone and SIM card. So I want a backup of every single contact that I can transfer to a new card, if this one were to get ruined or lost. And on Ebay they have thumb drives that claim to be able to back up GSM cards onto a PC; so I would like to get one of those. I just hate beyond words putting in my contacts over and over again. With Verizon they backed up my contacts for free, but AT&T doesn't offer that. And if I were to lose my phone, then my SIM card would be gone as well. So that would mean another hour of putting contacts into a brand new SIM card.

So if I got a GSM card backup, it would backup AT&T's 3G cards?
 
As I suggested, get another SIM card and copy the contacts from the phone's internal memory to that backup SIM card. Contacts stored in internal memory can be assigned ringtones, picture IDs, email addresses, birthdays and street addresses. Water does not harm a SIM card. It just harms the phone. If you have a phone which can synchronize with your computer, you have a backup there. You can only synchronizes contacts stored in the phone's internal memory.
 
I have looked at this and it does look like they have a slot to plug in GSM SIM Cards so that they can be backed up on to your computer. Actually I'm going tobe doing that soon ;) I'll let you know how it turns out
