Anyway around the 15 dollar fee for switching phones?

Just got a 6700 ready to use and I try switching ESN's, only to hear there's a 15 dollar fee to do so. Anyway to get around this?

Maybe that you will leave them altogether they might waive it. But you have to be nice about not in a mean way...

They have no problem with you leaving. So that won't work.

The only way is to change your ESN which is highly illegal. So i don't suggest it. So really there isn't a way.

he is talking about cloning a different ESN to the the phone, not switching the ESN that is on the account. The only real way around it is to BS with the CS rep, or make frienRAB with a dealer, they dont have to charge you.

If you've been with cricket for a year, they'll usually give you a credit towarRAB buying a new phone... Tell them instead of the credit you just want them to waive the ESN change fee... They'll usually do that.

If you haven't been a customer for over a year.. you're probably not getting anywhere.

Thats funny i had my nuraber change the other night and they was going to charge me the $15.00 fee and i said nicely that i need to close my account. Then and she ask why and i said i didn't want to pay the fee so she waived it. Of course i've been with them almost a yr and pay my bill on time. So that might be a factor...

The "close my account" threat works quite often, but it's about 50/50... your odRAB go down the longer you've been with them as well... you're better to play the "I'm a loyal customer,do me a favor" line, rather than threatening to leave.

I brought my phone into a full service center and the guy at the counter was so stoked to see the phone that I managed to get working with Cricket (6700) that he waived the fee.

AM! Help me out then... I've been trying to coax Cricket to change my ESN to my RAZR so I can make sure the damn thing works... and they keep telling me no. I want to set it up that I can use both my phones... so I dont have to carry around my bulky 6700 on hot days that I'm really busy. to me its more of a show off phone.

well my advice for you is get to know dealers and you can get it form them for free

ive went into verizon, copied and esn, made the esn file, and actaviated another phone. Talk about a weakness in there security !
