Are you related to anyone that used to fight in WWII or even the Civil War? Maybe you're related to a famous author who wrote some classic stories. Or, maybe you're aunt is Jodie Foster. Then again, there's always that large chance that your ancestors came over on the Mayflower, and you have a few interesting stories to tell...?
For me, I don't know so much as that interesting, some things rather sad along in my history line, while some are just...different?
I do have ancestors who came over on the Mayflower, and got their last names, Twitchell. Then, later along the line, these two brothers got SOOO mad at eachother, so I hear from my grandparents, who've learned all this from a genealogist some rich cousin of mine happened to hire,- that the one brother decided he didn't even want the same last name. So he simply took out the middle 't' and, for this side of the family, it's been "Twichell" ever since. Anyway, after the Mayflower, they were all along the east coast (northern) and my great-great-great...etc.etc...? Got killed by indians. Ironic thing is, my grandpa married my awesome grandma, who's mostly indian. Go figure! Lovely little story isn't it?
No, but I am realated to Joseph Hopkins Twichell. I guess he was in the Civil War and best friend and preist of Mark Twain. There was that, and the fact that he had 11 kids....so I'm not so sure I'm a direct descendant, just that it's from a long long time ago...
So that's it. Felt like shairng cuz I'm pretty much bored- and very interested in hearing other people's history, even if it isn't from anyone famous, something different would be cool.
