Anyone with Army ROTC experience please share...?

When i went to college it was mandatory for all male students. Most of us hated it, survived it, moved on. We had enough classes without burning 4 hours marching around the Parade Grounds.

Some of my buddies got commissions and purple hearts in Viet Nam, some never came home.
 
What were some likes/dislikes? What did you gain from it? How did it effect life as a college student? Please answer only if you've had or presently are enrolled in the Army ROTC program.
