Anyone with an N73 in Japan? Having sms problems.

It takes forever to send sms (the messages wait in my outbox for a few minutes...sometimes much longer).

Also, most of my messages aren't coming in. The phone was fine for the first month, but am now having serious issues.

Tried a master reset and now it works. Am I going to keep having to reset this thing every month or is there another solution? Cheers!
 
Can I flash it myself - have never done it before. Easy?

Have read about the sms accelerator - I guess I should do both?

Will flashing void my warranty here in Japan? I think the N73 that just came out here is slightly different than the Euro one.

Yes. You can flash it on your own. Visit Noka.com & look for Nokia software update. You don't need to install SMS accelerator if you flash it. Flashing from NSU (Nokia Software Update) should not void the warranty.
 
is your N73 is softbank branded 705NK?
if so there is no update file on NSU.
try SMS Accelerator.

Tannoi what is your product number? I have a Euro version phone but need to be able to text/read japanese. I'll be in Japan in April and will be there for 2mos w/family.
 
I am about to start new SoftBank account and as everyone in
Japan knows, you MUST buy a phone whenever you open an account.
Kind of backwards to what we are use to in the West. Oh well.

Does anyone know if SoftBank's 705NK can be unlocked so when I
travel to GSM areas I can use my GSM SIM cards?
