Anyone wear ear plugs

with the music thread, I'm curious how many wear ear plugs?

I do when I remember to stick them in before I put my helmet on.

Reason, I already have ringing in my ears from past sins.

Wind noise is the culprit and not your friend.

It does not stop the noises that are essential to be a safe rider. In fact, it removes quite a bit of the wind noise so that noises that are important are easy to pick up on.

if i dont have my music in ear buds then i have ear plugs, either way i dont ride without protection. I hear mixed reviews of those custom molded earplugs, specially when you can buy a tub of plugs for a few bucks and those custom jobs cost 200

All the time.

I use these military ones, their double sided which is great, perfect for city/highway driving.

i wear a set of custom made earplugs every time i ride. i forget what they cost exactly, but they were definitely under $200 and are much quicker and easier to put in than the disposable foam ones. if you use the disposable ones, make sure they're inserted correctly all the way in, otherwise they're not that effective.

I have both custom ear plugs and bud's. You can spend a little under $50 for customs at motorcycle shows or a lot more. The custom bud's will cost a buch more, but if you spend a long day with them in you will love the customs as you never get a pressure point like the generic ones. There are a bunch of people who make these also check your local gun shops for people that make them for shooters in your area.

All the time. I'm happy enough with the disposable foam jobbies from the local hardware store @ 50c a pop. Cuts 21db from memory and I can still hear the bike but takes the edge of the wind noise which is why I wear them. Industrial deafness is a bitch.

Absolutely! I actually can't stand riding without them. I began noticing slight ringing in the ears a while back and have since tried to do my best to retain what hearing I have.

On a bright note regarding hearing loss, there's a few doctors here in San Diego that are working on a treatment to actually restoring hearing loss by reactivating those little hairs in the inner ear that get damaged. From what I understand it's fairly promising.
