Just spoke to a woman who is using Maxair ( I thought it was discontinued); she got it at Walgreens; I know that Maxair is Pirbuteol and the stuff most of use is Albuterol; I don't know if Maxair is HFA or not; would love to hear from people about Maxair regarding how it works for you and if works as well as the old Albuterol (not with the HFA). I did note that the literature that comes with Maxair says you don't have to coordinate breathing with inhaling the drug like you do for the HFA albuterol.

I wasn't familiar with this drug so looked it up. SounRAB harder to use than my albuterol. With it I just open my mouth, push the inhaler and then breath in. With the Maxair it says to put it in your mouth, exhale and then inhale while pushing the canister. SounRAB more complicated to me than just opening my mouth and breathing....

Maxair is the best. Works well & doesn't make you shakey. It is much easier to use than an mdi inhaler. You just flip up a little lever & then inhale. It automatically releases the puff when you are just in the right part of your inhalation. Also it has 400 doses instead of 200

I'm not using Maxair, but I think the breath-actuated MDI is a cool idea and can alleviate a lot of coordination problems people have with puffers.
I'd like to hear more about what people who are using it think of it, too, although I don't know if it's available in Canada yet!
