Anyone use a motorcyle hitch carrier?

I've got two street bikes and I've never liked loading my bike into the back of my truck up the ramp, so I was wondering if anyone has used a motorcyle hitch carrier. Not the cheap ones that only have one beam, but one that would be sturdy.

What do you guys think?

Something like this:

ALMOST bought one... got a small trailer instead. To be honest, I got scared about loading a $16k bike without having my feet securly on both sides of it while I take it off terrra firma.

For a dirt bike I'd do it in a minute, could take your truck into the "off road" loading / unloading area more easily than a trailer. For my Ducati, I chickened out and stayed traditional. Plus you can use the trailer for other stuff Just sharing the same thought

i've been thinking of getting one from www.mototote.com but can't pull the trigger. i've been renting a trailer from uhaul for trackdays for $19.

I've got that exact same Versahaul one and it works VERY well. I got it because I sold my truck and put it on the back of an MDX. It was ok, but a little tricky to get on and you have to secure it properly, NOT like in the picture you posted. If you attach to the handle bars the angle doesn't keep the bike from rocking. I would attach to the lower triple clamp, like the instructions say.

It worked great and I would do it again if I needed. The only thing is if you wad your bike at the track it's a little hard to load. On the other hand you don't have to drive 55 as you do with a trailer.

I have since bought another truck and a trailer so I'll sell ya mine for 250 bucks if you want to come pick it up in Gilroy. I added the optional lights since the bike covered the tail lights on the MDX. By the way it WILL scrape in steep driveways.

I got a Joe Hauler CAM lock. Great investment. Plus I don't have to drive 55 in California. Bike is very secure and easy to load by myself.

You have the money for a ducati, do it justice and get a 1500$ enclosed trailer
