Anyone seen Two Lovers?

Saw it... V. disappointing. Total Lifetime channel movie. Thin storyline, unremarkable script full of cliches... Phoenix is a solid actor, as always, but there wasn't much for him to work with here. As for Paltrow, I'd agree with the poster above who labelled her "bland." Her role as Margot in "The Royal Tenenbaums" is the only impressive performance she's ever turned in, IMO.. Woeful end to Joaquin's acting career, if indeed he's serious about ditching film for good..

Very watchable, Phoenix puts on a good show and the two female leaRAB are fine. Quite funny in places, too. Only the rather rushed ending jarred, because the sudden change of pace drained any remaining tension from the film.

I liked Two Lovers.

It was low key but Phoenix really inhabited his role as the damaged protagonist who couldn't see love staring him in the face.

Paltrow also did okay I felt.

Normally she's eminently slappable but she played a difficult role & still managed to ellicit some sympathy for her neurotic rich girl.

Saw this earlier tonight. I quite liked it. Not something i would usually go see but since it's Joaquin Phoenix's final movie performance i thought i'd check it out.

Really interesting story with Joaquin's heart torn between the 'two lovers'. He acted well but he always does, it was a really understated performance. I thought Gwyneth Paltrow was good too playing a character we don't usually see her playing. But you sort of knew she was a bit of a cow and would fcuk things up for Leonard.

I thought the ending was a bit of a cop-out
the way Leonard goes back to Sandra even though the person he really loves is Michelle. But i think he knew deep down that she was the 'right' one for him and he could be happy and to be honest that's all he ever wanted - to love and be loved = happiness.
