Anyone see "A History of Violence"

Seriously? When I saw it the movie had two sex scenes, first one: cheerleading outfit thingie and the second one which was the one on the stairs with all the...violence. Both pretty....raw.:D

Darn, I must have seen the cut version because I expected more to the sex scene!

The violence wasn't much, but when it hit..it hit hard!

I loved this film, I love Viggo Mortensen but I couldn't tell you who was the best out of Viggo, Ed Harris or William Hurt. Perhaps William by a nose. The opening scene is very well done and the very simple end scene which speaks volumes. And everything inbetween. The only sour note was Viggo's son, who was slightly annoying. Anyway I can't really say much more without going into spoilers..but do see it, it's well worth it. :)

Don't worry about over-hyping it, sweets - from what I hear it's really quite well done, although excessively violent. Still, that's pretty much the premise of the movie so people should have their eyes open when they go in.

I'm defnitely catching this one although I doubt I'll get a chance to see it in the theater. :(

First off I'm biased because I luvvvvvvvv Viggo Mortensen.

HOW GREAT!! I loved this movie, it was so good. I couldn't believe it was SO simple yet so shocking!

People were tense during the whole thing, you could feel they were with the movie every single step of the way. They followed the story, they were bound to it!

Really, quite amazing.... No wonder the critics are loving it.

I don't want to overhype it but I just enjoyed it so much. :D

I would agree with everything you said here. The violence is very in your face when it happens. As is the sex. I never felt like the violence was too over the top - MEANING, I didn't think it was there just for shock value alone. It was but at the same time it fit the story and the individuals. Not condoning of course ;)

The sex was a little graphic I suppose - I wouldn't want to watch it with my parents. And I'm "old" !

Hmm... I missed this thread.

Oh, I love the movie, although I'm still fretting that we get the 'cut' version on our cinemas.

The violence happens are the stuff that happens for real but Hollywood's just afraid to show. The sex scenes are intense, that's all I'm saying.

i will be seeing 'ahov' on monday before work........it's probably not as violent as some of the films that i've seen.......will be back later (monday night) to post my thoughts........

Apparently, it's very violent. Raw violence, not pretty Hollywood violence.

I'm supposed to go tonight to see it! I hope it works out!
