Anyone see "A History of Violence"

The violence is raw, it's not all over the movie but when it happens it happens.

The sex however is graphic as in 21 Grams/Unfaithful graphic. If you're 17 or under I wouldn't say "go see it!", it's not a movie for kids, that's for sure.

So if you're 18 or older be careful who you take with you. :)

Good question, but "graphic's" fairly relative. It would help if you could say what you'd consider graphic (like, Nip/Tuck grahpic or Showgirls graphic - just some examples) so that people could give you a better idea... :)

From all that I've heard/read it could be considered a thriller because of how the movie unfolds.

Is this a thriller? When I saw the trailer it almost looked like a thriller but I don't know if that's how you would describe it.

That's hysterical. I guess in hindsight I figured there would be more too. But I thought the two that they did have were pretty well, like I said, I wouldn't want to watch it with my parents or anything. I mean, the stairs was pretty ... rough?

violence begets violence...which begets violence...which begets violence....ad infinitum......


today i saw 'a history of violence'.....a film that emphasizes the effects of and ramifications of violence...a family is forever changed by an act of violence....quick fast and too the point...clocking in at a brisk 96 minutes........with not a moment wasted....all in all an excellent film....while not my favorite film of the year.....i'd probably list it somewhere in the top 15......recommended viewing.....but with a caveat......not for the squeamish or those with an aversion to violence......

Oh yes I saw those, but after all the 'OMG the sex' I'd read about in this film, I expected a tad more...it was one of the reasons I rented it :lol:
 
It's based on a graphic novel, so I kind of want to see it. Not sure if I'll get a chance or not.
