I just picked up my first 848 and I'm looking to get all of this ugly plasitc off! Anyone here completly replace all of the plastic on their 848 with CF? If so, what parts did you use and where did you get them? How much did the entire job cost? Did you swap them out yourself or have a dealer do it?

Any help would rock. I'm a bit new to these bikes

You may wanna ask Xx1098xX....he is a CF junkie and has swapped out many, many parts already...

Search for some of his threads...he posted pictures as well...

Ohh...btw....Happy Birthday...

Most of us here have at least a couple pieces of carbon fiber on our bikes. There are several carbon fiber companies you can purchase from, Shift Tech, Belissimoto, Carbon World, Ducati, ect. I got mine from Carbon fiber works and I love it. Try and stay away from alot of the Japanese stuff. It is inexpensive but the quality just is'nt there in most cases.

Malx...in a matter of a couple days (when I get my new fender) I will have replaced every piece of crap black plastic on my 848 except for the belly pan. and that's only because I would cry if I got it all chipped up from rocks and road debris.

I've ordered all my stuff from Guido who runs shift-tech. One search will not only enlighten as to the highest possible quality of his products, but even more of his amazing customer service and demeanor. Most people on here swear by Shift-Tech. Not to say that there aren't other great carbon companies but I can nearly guarantee you that no one will match Guido's level of personal service.

BTW...it really ain't cheap! Go to shif-tech.com and browse everything offered for the 848 and you'll have the complete picture.

Have fun with that new Hayden!

ASM is right, I am a CF junkie, and not unlike you, I refuse to put anything on my bike that isnt the best quality, fit and finish. With that being said, if CF is your thing thing, Guido at Shift-Tech is the man to know. I have seen other companies CF and have nothing terrible to say but compared to Shift-Tech's product they are not even comparable. If cost is your concern, that is a seperate issue. I have replaced everything on my bike that was plastic with CF with the exception of the mirror covers and those have been ordered and are on the way. If this is your goal, plan to spend a minimum of about $4500.00 That doesnt include rear sets or a few miscellaneous CF items that just werent my style. Another must have is the neoprene seat and if you were to ask what my first purchase would be for performance...a Full Termi is certainly worth the additional $3,000...

Happy spending...

Thanks for the advice. I will def get a few CF parts for this bike. This site you sent me too I'm sure has good quality parts, but man is this site terrible. If this wasn't recommended to me, I would have closed this site in 3 seconds and blocked it from my hosts file.
