it was called Quiz Show and it was about the American TV quiz scandals of the 50s
I loved it as a kid and still count it as an all-time classic

Ive seen it,had the guy from red dragon in it,quite a long film from what i remember, they wanted him to cheat to win but he wanted to do it on his own.

Yeah I do remember this great little film. Great performances by Ralph Fiennes and Paul Scholfield. Good that it was based on a true story as well! Excellent direction by Robert Redford.

Sadly I think it got overlooked when it was released - simply because 1994 you had so many great films - Four Weddings and a Funeral, Pulp Fiction, Three Colours Red, The Last Seduction, The Shawshank Redemption, Speed. 1994 was a really strong year for film. Still at least it got Oscar nominations, plus the fans of it on this board.

Steven Soderbergh was up for helming the project, but then Redford seized it away from him. Or so Soderbergh claims...

Philip Roth's book, "Zuckerman Unbound", also features Herbie Stempel. Not a bad read if you're really fascinated by this American scandal.
