anyone remember last year's E3 where sony claimed the PS3 would have TWO HDMI ports?

for dual screen 1080p?

now they introduce two models.. one of which has NO HDMI port, and the other only has ONE.

maybe they realized their PS3 was barely powerful for one 1080p output, much less two.

and how great is it that sony creates blu-ray with all this encryption like HDCP which requires HDMI.. then they release a "blu-ray player" incapable of playing these movies at their full resolution?

GENIUS, SONY! PURE GENIUS!

Judging by the lenght of lines at E3, so are a lot of others like myself.

PS3 wait in line = 30 minutes
Wii = 4 hours

Any guess who stole the show?

I wonder if the PS3 will have a huge power block like the 360, after looking at the comparison between the PS3 & 360.
What are all those extra ports on the back of the prototype PS3 versus the production PS3??

Bottom row looks like 3 Ethernet & 2 USB ports.

1080P over HDMI requires HDCP (which wasn't created by sony anyway), not the other way around ... further, there's already a 5 year transition period during which the encryption wont be required ... further still the ps3 is hdcp compliant ...

360 here i come. Besides xbox live has a huge community where everyone can unite. In ps2 you could only chat on internet forums, the games that where online where only dedicated to single games. I think xbox is heading in the right direction and soon will have my money. I am def getting a 360 and wii at the same time when wii is released.

Uhh.. like wireless ability out of the box?

A decent 360 will cost more than a PS3, point blank. I have owned a 360 and wireless adapter from the drop.. but it doesn't change that the 360 Premium + Network Adapter + HD-DVD addon will be at LEAST $600, if not $700. Add to that, the PS3 is more powerful and all the issues the 360 has had (mine now has a non-working mic and rear-panel USB port is out.. 3 weeks for repair? Uhh.. THREE weeks?).

I won't buy a PS3, I'm going to go with the Wii and my 360 for a long time.. but still.. the PS3 isn't priced that bad if you compare it to the 360.

You have to understand the more they put into the system the more they have to charge. If they put everythig that was advertised E3 05 it would cost darn near 1000 dollars.

Doesn't matter, they still claimed their system would have a lot of things it doesnt... They lied in hopes of keeping people from buying the xbox360.

only 360 features microsoft advertised and didn't deliver for everyone was wireless controllers and wifi built-in.. but they're both available options. sony's claim of two hdmi ports (the topic of this thread) was advertised as standard and then removed completely. not even an option. so I don't see your point.

And microsoft claimed a bunch of stuff about 360 that didn't happen. But you know what, life goes on. Its marketing, they probably realized that what they wanted to give is too much and had to cut it down a bit to get the price better, and its STILL not low enough. Give them a break.

Uhh, the question was what was announced to be in the 360 and didn't end up there.. wifi is the answer. Its not a difficult 'point' to grasp. Example asked for, example given?
