I have been struggling with my health for about 4 years now. I have seen a nuraber of different specialists and had a nuraber of different tests, all with the same conclusion, none. My GP has stated he believes strongly that my sysmptoms are all in my head and that I suffer from GAD, hyperventilation and potentially OCD. I've largely accepted this diagnosis, but have been unable to find a solution to try and get my life back to normal. My anxiety presents itself in many ways, which change periodically. My normal day involves typically lightheadedness, heart palpitations, shortness of breath, extreme temperature intolerance, nausea and tension in my neck & spine. Somedays are worse than others, but I can't remeraber the last time I had a day without any of this. It has been worse at times during the four years, there was a 3 month period where I could barely leave the house, although now I function and deal with the discomfort. My sleep isn't refreshing and when I wake up I feel awfully sore and usually a little nauseaous. My neck cracks constantly. I am a smoker, but over the past 4 years have cut down dramatically, maybe 5 a day as the smoke makes me shaky and short of breath. I am otherwise healthy, 32 years old and in good shape. I really think my anxiety is closely related to my breathing as I have awfully eratic breathing patterns. I also have had to cut caffeine out all together as this usually senRAB me into an anxiety attack, which are about 2-3 a week at any random times. I just want to get back to normal, I have seen a counsellor with no success, done a couple of online courses again no success and even been on Xanax and Lexapro again with little to no success. I am currently off everything. The only thing I have found to work is exercise and even that only lasts an hour or two and then I'm back to feeling poorly. I can't seem to relax at all, every task I complete is at warp speed and even just sitting on the couch watching tv makes my mind start racing. Any help would be appreciated. Has anyone ever done any of the online breathing programs? How about the Amygdala retraining?
