Anyone own a Mazda MX5 MK1?

I'm considering buying one of these cars, the California model to be exact, and I just wondered about their reliability. Also, what's the fuel consumption like? Any opinions, or hints and tips would be gratefully received.

Very very reliable. Just as reliable as Honda's and Toyota's.
Gas mileage is average.
