Anyone noticed that Republicans are now trying to portray Fiscal Conservatives?

Fiscal conservatives would read up on the economic crisis and realize that Obama's stimulus is the only "capitalist" way to address it.Instead they listen to Limbaugh's take on it.Limbaugh is not going to make money by Obama being a successful President.Ignoring that fact ALONE shows how much "business sense" they have.

It is laughable.. But Ill take it..Now if we could just get the Democrats to realize you cant spend your way out of record trade deficits.. We might actually get somewhere.

Isn't it Amazing that under every Republican from Reagan to George Sr. to George W. I have had the BIGGEST INCREASES IN MY TAXES! Here's the deal! Tax the middle class, tax the poor, No taxes for upper class, none for Royalty or BIG BUSINESS! And they wonder why WE WANT CHANGE? I say Take Off Their Necks!

Maybe both parties need to realize that wreckless spending is not going to help this country at this point.I don't care which side finally figures that out! do you?Education will improve when and only when PARENTS become an active part of the education process, work with their children and stress the importance of doing well in school............not a penny in cost! Failing states have a means of raising money for the needs of their state.....it's called STATE TAXES. Why should the federal gov't take over the state's job? Why do we not hold states accountable for taxing their citizens what the state needs to run in the black? The federal gov't is not a support group who runs to fix all the boo-boos in the nation. Fiscal responsibility starts at the local level!

I don't think they are being disingenuous, I think they had control of both houses of congress (for 6 years by the way, not 8) and got carried away and have now been hit by a bolt of reality. They departed from what they said were their beliefs and it cost them in a huge way that they may not fully recover from for years. One would hope that their Democratic peers would take this opportunity to learn from the mistakes of others but that doesn't appear to be the case with the legislation currently in front of the senate. What would it take to convince them that it's not about bringing home the pork to get re-elected. By the way, I've decided to open communications with my legislators and take the time to watch their voting record carefully and I would urge anyone reading this to do the same.

<For the last 8 years(mostly 2001-2006) Republicans out spent any Democratic controlled Congress in the History of the United States.>I don't get that. If the Congress was controlled by Democrats, how could Republicans outspend anyone? Apparently the Democrats were OK with it. Or else how could that have happened?@Mayberry Mom: Preach it, sister. You are so right on the money.

I don't know but here is what I notice so far. They like to see budget deficit and then impose tax-cut. They like providing corporate tax loopholes and corporate subsidy but despise subsidy for social programs.I guess with a huge budget deficit, they can brag to be a fiscal conservative again.

Has anyone noticed how democrats are wanting to spend billions on stupid things like puppy parks and water parks when the the government is broke.People are losing jobs and the country is failing and they insist they on having their way. Read the spending bill before you attack people with your stupidity.

Dude, just because somebody has the (R) behind their name does not mean they are conservative. Hell, Olympia Snow is about as conservative as Nancy Pelosi. Same thing with Susan Collins. By the way, you don't think it's disingenuous to put forth a "stimulus" package that does not create one private sector job? Get real, Dude.
