Going back to the 80's -- your average action star looked more like a superhuman. Take Arnold, Stallone, and Dolph Lundgren for example. It was all about being manly, bulging with muscles, and doing crazy stuff like punching out a camel and getting up after being shot several times.
Nowadays, we seem to have a fascination with kick-ass fighting girls (like Mila Jovovich, Uma Thurman, and Carrie Anne Moss). Could it be that the 1980's was a kind of "golden era" for bodybuilding action stars like Rambo - who apparently can take out a whole army all by himself?
