Another major issue - privacy. Chrome, and the browser n the G1 bot track and store the user's history, etc. You want that?

UMA is a hardware issue for the curve since the processor is so weak, but not for the G1, which has twice the power. & reading the developer's forum a solution will be available! not that you need it with the unlimited package. needless to say its not a big deal for me. it still has wifi. as far as privacy, uncle sam or someone will always be watchin you on the web! so if thats all you can say to hate on the G1 then fine! im sure youve read all the fine print on your curve too right? I guess I'll just take my "toy" with 3g,wifi, gps,3.2 inch 320x480 touch display, desktop browser,Qualcomm MSM7201A 528 Mhz processor, Digital compass, and go play!!

I'm buying a G1, but for different reasons than many people. I'm buying one just for the experience and to see what the baseline is that Google sets for it's suite of mobile software. This will be like every other device I have that is not a BlackBerry, it will be a secondary device. I will use it on my other line, see what it's all about, and then at some point retire it.

To date there is simply nothing that comes remotely close to the usefulness of a BlackBerry in my eyes.

Too late. Unfortunately privacy is gone already. It's just a myth, a fantasy of the past. All one must do to verify this is read an EULA from any of the major tech companies, or nearly any other contractual agreement. The "fine print" is rarely read (much less understood) by the average consumer, as it's so lengthy, convoluted and circuitous. Remember we are all being watched and recorded....

HUH man is this HIGH SCHOOL or the adult league. SPEND THE MONEY U GOT ON THE TOY U WANT. Is entrprise for Companies? I'm alone waiting on mine~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~

Im lookin into the G1 . I talked with Tmo today, she said that the phone is only on internet preorder and you can't get it in the store for up t a full month until after the official launch.
Official Launch is Oct.22th, if you pre order it you will get you're G1 by November 10th.

I already pre-ordered it. I don't even know what "UMA" is, but don't care. If it has anything to do with bluetooth I don't want it anyway as I never use it and never will due to the radiation it causes.

I can't wait to get it!

Me too 1st day! I get my on the 22nd. For those that didn't preorder before the 3rd, don't bother! I'm sure you can get it at the tmo store on the 22nd, you just have to beat the crowd.

r u serious?

The G1 looks... ok. I'm happy with my Blackberry and want to stay in that vertical unless it can support Exchange at some level.

Oh yes- I'm absolutely serious and supported by facts.

Anyway I will be extremely excited when my G1 arrives. It has amazing features and outweighs the iPhone and Storm by a whole lot. Just wait for it's market to get soaring.

Also those who haven't don't have to "not bother" because pre-sale is still available. I ordered mine on the 4th.
For those who ordered on the 3rd or prior will get theirs by Oct. 22nd.
For those who ordered on the 4th and after will get theirs by Nov. 10th.

For me I am VERY excited as I absolutely LOVE Google and their product line. I use Gmail and Google Calendar.
I hope GCal will be integrated and auto updating to the web based GCal straight from the phone without the use or need of products like Google Calendar Sync that Blackberry uses.
