Anyone looking to get the new G1

I was too until I found out that it wont work UMA thats pretty stupid why would you offer the UMA on phones that have been out for awhile and then bring out a brand new device without UMA. I think they kinda dropped the ball on this one especially since the phone is already wifi how hard could it be to do UMA too.

Im getting the G1. No new Blackberry's for a while on T-MOBILE. I am really hurt that T-mobile will not be getting the Blackberry Storm. I wanted to cry. Im ready for a touch screen phone and there are endless posibilities with the android software.

I was going to pick up a G1 and keep my Curve as well until I found out:

-no 3.5mm jack and requires proprietary dongle

-no tether

-no video record

-no data standalone plan (voice required)

Some poor decisions on Tmo's and HTC's parts. I think this new device will definitely be a strong start for Android, but could be a much stronger one with just a few better thought out choices.

I wont ever let the Curve go but i need a new gadget to play with.Im a Blackberry fan for life but going to Verizon is not an option. T-MOBILE needs to get on the ball or I just might have to leave them.

I am number 20 on the list at my local T-Mobile store.

Most of the shortfalls are easily corrected with a software update...or even a 3rd party application.

I will still have my BlackBerry for work

it's a cdma only device for now for any carrier in the states, we have the 8220 which ones the 4.6 OS and an amazing device the 8120's in the different colors, and the javelin very late this year early next year

Im not saying that it will never have it I just think that its something that shouldve been put on from the begining instead of having to wait for someone to write a application for it. But I do like the data plan for it unlim data and 400 msg for $25 or unlim data and unlim msg for 35 still beats att's prices

I'm in! Can't wait for my G1. It already has a video player app waiting as soon as we get the phone! Hardware supports video recording & tethering so there will be apps created for that too. Headphone jack is a letdown but have you seen the ones that come with it? They look great! This phone beats the 8320 on features!
