Anyone know which cartoon this character is from?

So, a while back, someone here had this lovely avatar:

But the problem is, I have no idea where they're from. My first guess was Rita from the Hugo movies, but...

While the coloring is similar, the facial structure is quite different.

Of course, I haven't rolled out the possibility that it could've been an original character for an illustration, but it doesn't hurt to try.

The first thing that comes to mind for me is Fox and the Hound. Maybe it's fanart?

The Huntsman should know where that picture is from. IIRC, it was his avatar for a time.

Facial structure, body proportions, eye shape, coloring...nothing really matches except species.

Again, I'm not ruling out fanart, but even as fanart, a lot of care seemed to go into the details, so it seems unlikely that it would look so different from the inspiration.




Err...well, that's the thing. I PM'd him and, when that didn't work, left a visitor message, but never got a response. Rather than pester him any further, I decided to start this thread to see if anyone else had any idea.

It doesn't look like its from anything that was animated.

The picture isn't streamlined in such a way that would make it easy to be so.

The picture simply has too much detail and too many embellishments that make it impractical to be animated.

It's probably some form of fan art.

Or promo piece, or concept art or some sort of tie-in illustration. It might even be someone's original art.

I am thinking that it is fanart or promo art of something, therefore may not look 100% like the character it is representing.
