I'm doing research on a silent-era actress who was famous for her jewelry, which was said to often have a value equal to the production cost of the movies she was in. In one article, which is very fuzzy due to age, the writer appears to say that she was wearing a famous pair of "Dujordt" earrings from France. That spelling might be wrong, but that's as best I can make it out. In her pictures, they look to be oval, perhaps 2" in height and 1" wide, and solid, with some kind of decoration on a solid surface. Then again, the pictures are pretty fuzzy, but the same earrings do show up in all her photos for years, so I'm pretty sure they are the right ones. Clearly, the reporter expected readers in 1920 to know what he meant.
Any ideas on what the word I'm spelling as Dujordt is really supposed to be?
