as ORIGINALLY written? As in, from what I heard, primarily not for children to read. Many years ago in Taiwan I stumbled upon this book (in Chinese) which consisted of tales from the Grimm bros. I was surprised how dark and disturbing all of them were and was sure that the content did not suit children AT ALL. However I've kept no recollection of the title of the book..
P.S. Only thing I remember from it was the Rapunzel's story where she was forced into semi-prostitution by her evil keeper in the castle. She was taught to seduce strangers up the castle then poison them with the wines her master prepared. She ended up falling in love with one man and running away with him. However when he found out her past (from the evil witch master who liked to sabotage things) he became extremely violent toward her and began both physically/emotionally abusing her. Eventually she returned to the castle and accepted her fate to continue torturing men. Hope that helps..!
