Anyone know if you can replace the batteries in a solar powered outdoor light?

I have a small Solar powered pathway lantern that no longer works,When I looked inside I see there are two batteries in there. Is there a way to get new batteries for these things or should I just toss it? Such a shame to toss it because it is metal and still in good condition but useless unless I could get it to work again.

Remove the batteries and clean any crud from the ends of them. Clean the contact points in the battery receptacle. See if that gets things going for you after it has some charge time in the sun. I have a lot of solar lights and this is what works 90% of the time for me. I have some lights that are 10 years old and still have the original batteries. All I do is clean the contact points once a year.

Yes, new batteries will make it work like new. You must buy Ni-cad type rechargeble.
