Recently, on facebook, a certain person going under an anonymous user name has been posting a LOT of crap about friends of mine and some people he/she has never met. It's made a few of my friends cry, and it's made the rest (myself included) quite angry. So is there anyway to find out their IP address? All I have is his/her email address, a facebook account, and formspring account.
I'd prefer to do this myself, not get an ISP or authorities involved. So no one tell me to call the cops or any of that, just answer the question if you know. Thanks in advance.
PS: I dont intend on doing anything illegal with his/her IP address, just wish to maybe find a real name, or at least scare them into stopping.
Thank you Arie for a proper answer. I've sent him an email on a disposable account pretending to side with him in the hopes he may return a message. I'm not sure yahoo has the best options for viewing someones ip, as i can't manage to view full headers in my inbox. His/her email account is with @live.com, so i may use my hotmail account.
