Anyone know about Chrysler/Dodge Neons?

I'm looking at buying one for a first car... but I wanted to know find out a bit first. one over the year 2000

1. Are they strong cars?

2. Since some have 3 speed automatic, does this mean the petrol would be used more because it would work harder in gear 3?

3. Mechanical problems

4. Parts

5. How much to fill up

6. any other useful information

1. Are they strong cars?. YES IF U TAKE CARE OF THEM AND MAINTANE THEM.

3. Mechanical problems. HEADGASKETS..AND BASIC MAINTENANCE REPAIR AND WEAR AND TEAR

4. Parts. FAIRLEY CHEAP

5. How much to fill up. 20-25$ WITH GAS AT 2.50$

6. any other useful information. IF YOU ARE IN WINTER... GET SNOW TIRES. AND KEEP IT WASHED OF YOU DONT WANT A PILE OF RUST
 
there not the best , the 1995 to 200 neons are basicly crap. there are also plymouth neons. the 2001 to 2005 are a bit better. at some poiunt thhey gave neon a face lift and and changed it to dodge sx2.0. reg gas is fine. not a very good car. small engine only 2.0 engine with 132 horsepower. 25 mpg city and 35 highway. i advise you not to get one. carsd you should look into are chrysler cirrus, dodge stratus and plymouth breeze.
