We have had about 8 inches of snow over the past several days, but the roads aren't too bad and my Caravan is still having a lot of trouble getting around. Most of the roads and parking lots only have an inch or two of slush/powder and if I am on the slightest incline the car barely moves. I have had people tell me to put a couple sand bags in the back, but it is front wheel drive, will weight in the back help? I know I am going to slip and spin my wheels a little when it snows, but the last few days my tires are spinning almost every time I start up and all the time when I'm on an incline. I had been taking it very easy getting on the gas, but they still spin, so I've been getting on it pretty hard when I start, trying to burn the tires through the snow so they grip on the pavement quicker. This works sometimes but I think it has almost gotten me stuck a time or two also. I was thinking about putting new tires on the car, can anyone recommend a brand a style that will be a good all weather tire for my car or another way to increase traction in the snow. Thanks.
