my mother sent me a check for $500 made out to cash. I do not have a bank account of any kind. So I gave it to a friend of mine to deposit it for me, and give me the cash. BUT, I signed it. It's made out to cash and the bank wouldn't cash it. I am using the money to purchase a car. I just called the car dealer and asked them if I could sign the check over to them since it is made out to cash. Can I?
