Anyone here hate "Twilight"

He actually puts me off seeing the movies. I think he has one of the oddest faces I've ever seen and he is just so unattractive that I find all the hype irritating.

I'm normally quite laid back about that kind of thing - e.g. I don't find Jude Law attractive either but accept that many people do. But RP to me is just odd - his face looks kind of flat and weird.
 
I'm planning on watching it on Saturday when it's on Sky Movies, but since everybody that i know has seen it and thinks it's beyond awful, i'm not expecting much from it (and to be honest, the trailers make it look unbelievably generic). I really loathe the fan reaction to this series though, not even Harry Potter fans are THAT annoying. Check out what Kevin Smith had to say about Twilight at this years comic con if you want a laugh, lol.

Kristen Stewart can be good in certain films, she seems more at home in the indie scene rather than blockbusters. Check her out in 'Into The Wild' and then tell me she's a bad actress.

I enjoyed the books at first, but by the time i'd gotten to oh, the second one i was bored. If i had a guy turning up in my room every night, staring at me, claiming he was made to protect me and constantly asking me what i was thinking i'd feel suffocated!
God and Bella is annoying, more so in the films than the books but annoying never the less.

In fact, i hate twilight. It's stupid. "I sparkle!" wtf?
 
I dunno about hate but I'm just watching it on Sky for the first time. It's a slow old poke isn't it? I'm struggling to stay interested to be honest.
 
How the hell is that possible? surely if you can act, you can act! even if the script is horrible - we have all seen enough movies to know that a good actor can rise above a terrible script and their performance will stand out as the only good thing.

The Bella role does not require the skills of a Meryl Streep, it could probably have been done equally as well by Megan Fox (and that's saying something:eek:)

But in fairness - maybe I will search for 'Into the Wild' - have a look and come back - maybe I will retract my comments (crazier things have happened - and yes I will watch it with an open mind)
 
What they need is for Blade to go on the rampage and kill every sodding last vampire there and in True Blood. That'll shake up Vampire story telling a bit.
 
I wouldn't say that Stephenie Meyer is a terrible author. Her sci-fi book, The Host, was actually pretty good and i had a tear in my for part of it.

Her Twilight series really is dire though, and the film is even worse!



Or Buffy even. Really shows the differences in the quality of storytelling and displays EdwarRAB behaviour for what it is.
 
I'd just finished re-watching Buffy and Angel (hadn't seen them since they were first aired), when all this Twilight phenomenon started.

Dear lord, the differences in characterisation, scripts and effects are far superior in the Whedonworld! One 45 minute episode of either Buffy/Angel could have me laughing and crying (Once More With Feeling/ The Body, anyone?), yet Twilight just made me :sleep::yawn::sleep:. There is no depth to any of the characters!

Spike, Angel, Dru, Darla etc. all had backstories that made sense with the characters, and each revelation about them made them seem more realistic. The Edward, Jasper backstories seemed tacked on for the sake of having a backstory. :o

I agree with the people who've been bigging up the Anne Rice books (Interview film was quite good too) and The Lost Boys, that's some damn amazing vampire stortelling.

Though I have to admit...I couldn't get past the first Blade film...the main guy in it bored me and not even the fighting scenes got me through his wooden face. :o

all my frienRAB love it :mad: but its so frustrating that i cant open their eyes and help them see that its a really shockingly bad film and that this time in 2 years they wont remember it
 
I know even intelligent people seem to be blinded to the fact its poorly written and badly scripted and directed.

"R patz" (:rolleyes:) isn't that good looking either.
 
Just watched the film on Sky anytime, and thought it was O.K, I believe it was aimed for that teen age as it didn't really seem very scary at all,. The thing what got me was the whole 'I could kill you at any second' but i wont vibe. I mean this could apply to anyone in a relationship, mmm I've got a knife in my hand and I could kill you but ... lets have a night out instead, phew ok you nutter! sigh what a romantic.

P.S what with all the vampires going out during daytime and going to school?
I watched this because I'm fond of vampire films, I like the way they are the reverse of mainstream humans, anti work anti daylight anti life anti establishment this film made them seem just like 2d characters.

Want a good vampire film, try 'The Fearless Vampire Killers'
 
Read all 4 books and they were pish. I only read them all to see if our wet pathetic heroine eventually stopped fancying her cold 100odd year old, controlling, sexist boyfriend and started fancying the only slightly rapey werewolf.

I'm not one for censorship but I would disallow any 14 yr old girl from reading this sexist claptrap.

Your boyfriend chucks you and you feel like there is a gaping hole in your chest for months! Then go back out with the bastard?!

What happened to good old-fashioned getting pished with your mates and snogging another dude?

Plus it's horrifically written. If I read one more sentence about how beautiful his eyes were I'd have stabbed my own out.

I'll not be watching the movies.
 
The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice were good... at least the first few that I read were.

I haven't seen Twilight but it seems to be aimed at young teenagers who have just grown out of High School Musical.
