anyone having trouble loading up gta4 saves for ps3?

I turn my ps3 on and it stays at the loading screen of the game...i try earlier saves and nothing. I press my ps button and hit quit game and my ps3 beeps then restarts,

EDIT: DISCONNECT FROM THE PSN NETWORK AND THE GAME WILL LOAD UP FINE!

I played online earlier today with no problems at all. Played for a few hours. I'm wondering if it's because the servers are overloaded or something?

I just had this same issue. I would suggest deleting game utility data and reinstalling. I'm sure a fix is coming.

I did..and says starting new game...and sits from there on...why even bother playing if its gonna do this and lose all progress?

Not sure on that. It seems there are two issues (i've experienced both). Did you disable the network and try loading?

EDIT: Did you also disable the media server?

All I've tried was logging out of the psn network and then starting the game and it loaded fine. im playing the single player mode now...if I quit back to the home screen and log back into the network and then start the game again it will freeze at the loading "last save name" screen.
