Anyone have problems with their Wii?

First, my remote was busted, Nintendo sent me a new one.
And this morning, I noticed that the lite was green and not orange. I turned on my TV and it was blank. I tried turning off the Wii with both the power buttons on the console and the remotes, but nothing happened. I thought it might have been updating or something, so I left it. A few hours later and it was still the same. I had to unplug the console and everything was back to normal. Anyone know whats going on or anyone experience the same problem?
 
I realize that did sound sarcastic but it wasn't meant to. I used to work at a place that repaired systems and we rarely had Nintendo systems in. Mostly Sony's....

Nintendo has a really good reputation with building solid consoles. The only problem ive ever had with a Nintendo console is my NES - blowing in cartridges ftw though.

Id like to know where you bought the console from. Ive never heard of a broken Wii remote from the pack.
 
Sometimes I lose sync on one of my motes if I swing it too hard. And sometimes I'll lose sync and it won't reconnect even if I restart it. Makes me have to unplug the power adapter and reconnect it before it'll work again.
