...read on a vw jetta? My engine light is on on my 2000 vw jetta 1.8 turbo. The mechanic says the diagnostic codes that came up: p0411 and p1136 mean I need a new secondary air pump and seconary air valve. I asked if he checked all the connections (hoses, etc.) in the system and how do they know these parts are needed - - can't these codes mean something else associated with these parts is causing this read? The service man said his mechanics would have checked the connections and that he would need to get the two parts and take mine off - - to be sure, but that in cases like mine (with this diag. read) these two parts are almost always defective. I was just googling and parts alone on this job would cost me in excess of $400. Because the service man did not go over with me how they ruled out any other probable causes of this code read, I am a wary about his prognosis.
