Must be the state your in. I'm in CA and have geico with 2 points on record plus I'm 27 and pay about 950/yr for max everything. Shop around though.

Wow!! That is outragous. I have Progressive, full coverage and pay $600.00 per year. They also cover my accessories and upgrades. I am 33, with 0 points on my license.

I'm 25 and I even have an auto policy with them. They said I got a "Multi car discount" Are you guys sure that your bikes are covered? I'll call state farm today.

Thanks

Odd, I lost my multi car discount when I sold my truck (still have the Escalade and 1098). Living in CO my insurance went down about $200/yr from what it was in AZ.

Yes I'm sure my 1098 is covered. Maybe cause the 1098' is not a "racebike" like the 848

Here's what I currently have with Gieco. I called State Farm and asked them for a quote on both my car and my bike.

Proprety Damage

2010 Ducati 848
Bodily Injury 15k / 30k
Property Damage 5k
Uninsured Motorists/With Stack 15k / 30k
Underinsured Motorists/With Stack 15k / 30k
Comprehensive 0.5k deductible
Collision 0.5k deductible
Towing & Labor INC

Total 3400/year

The insurance on my Porsche is about 2200/year. I'm going to see if I can get them both down.

bodily injury 100/300K
property damage 100K
medical 1K non-deductible
I don't have uninsured motorist
comprehensive 1K deductible
collision 1K deductible

This is the max coverage I think for the bike, so you have the minimum I do believe. I pay $939 for the year. I have a DUI on my record from 5-6 years ago, which geico no longer recognizes in CA after 5 years, however, the 2 points are still on record.

You need to ask them what the uninsured motorist is all about, when I talked to the agent it didn't cover me like I thought it would. I forget, but they told me if someone hits me and doesn't have insurance, my regular coverage would pay for it; I think it was extra in case the damage was too much or something??? Overall you need to work with your level of coverages and raise your deductibles if you wanna drop the premium, but I don't think it will come down much.

I got quotes prior to buying my 848, and every single company was around 3-4K except geico, so keep looking.

State Farm.

I'm in Brooklyn, which I believe has the one of the highest theft stats on vehicles.

$840/year everything included.

For Crap sakes Malx, give us your age and location so we're not all shooting in the dark here!

I'm not sure about the US but in Canada your insurance rate can double depending on if you live in a rural VS. congested urban area. My buddy moved from Sudbury to Toronto and his rates more than doubled. Off topic but it works the opposite way with home insurance.
