I have had a pain in my lower right abdomen for about 3 months. I laid off of intense working out (sprinting, circuit training etc.) for about 1.5 months and have spent the last month doing nothing physical. I have had some improvement (It doesn't hurt too much when I sneeze or cough), but it still bothers me when I walk for a long time or ride my bike at all. I'm getting an MRI tomorrow and I see a surgeon Friday.
I just want to know if anyone has recovered totally from a sports hernia like this without having surgery.
PS My x-rays came out negative, a urologist determined the pain was muscular/skeletal in nature, and the surgeon believes that it in deed is likely to be a sports hernia (athletic pubalgia) and not anything else like an inguinal hernia
Thanks!!
