Anyone going to see Gamer this weekend ?

Saw it at the weekend, it was ok, but a bit disappointing. Imo it had a good premise, poorly executed and could have been some much better, just felt it was lacking in a plot a lot of the time and a lot of stuff was skipped over

I thought this film was a bit out there. I didn't really enjoy it, the action i thought was all that saved this film. The whole "Society" thing was uncomfortable to watch, the idea that people have no control over themselves is a bit off putting.

Was alight, still think Death Race was a MILLION times better

I would go as far to say one of the worst films I've ever seen in the cinema (note, I have an unlimited card). I actually hated every second of it!

You took the worRAB right out of my mouth!

It was one of those films where I was unsure about seeing but as there wasn't much else on at the cinema, I decided to watch this. Wish I'd stuck to my gut instinct and not bothered.

Just got back from seeing this. I thought it was pretty good, not amazing or anything, but it entertained me enough for me to be able to say that i enjoyed it. It was basically a 21st century version of 'The Running Man'.

Oh dear. I usually don't mind the odd mindless violence/action film but sweet baby Jesus that was dire! I went with 3 others and about 45 mins in they all started whispering to me if I was enjoying the film. When I said no they all smiled back and said that they agreed and that it was a complete pile of shit. I honestly have never been so bored and underwhelmed while watching a film before (well maybe with Johnny English) but honestly how did anyone think this would be a major successful film. The acting, the effects, the plot (or lack thereof), the directing, the style all very very very very bad. Worst film of the year... hell yes, almost bordering into worst film of the decade territory. What a waste of my hard earned money and 90 mins of my life.

I'd say "Dear Frankie", a modest romantic drama, saves Butler from the pantheon of actors who've never made a good film. Now, Jessica Alba, she really hasn't ever made a reputable flick.

As for "Gamer", I almost don't know what possessed me to go and see it. My body wasn't taken over by a thirteen year old by who then virtually directed me to my nearest multiplex, so there must be another explanation. I reckon it was the Michael C Hall effect. I wanted to see if Hall could acquit himself well in a blockbuster, and yeah he was as good as could have been expected.

Butler's agency might find themselves getting kicked into the pit by the burly actor. They've not only scored him one of the worst films of the decade in "Gamer", but partnered it with the equally bad "The Ugly Truth". And in a single summer! I suspect some numerous razzy gongs are pending.
