Anyone ever use hydrocortisone 0.2% cream?

Hey all,

So I posted before about having a bad reaction to benzoyl peroxide and having a red mark on my face. Well I saw a dermatologist and he prescribed the hydrocortisone velate (spelling?) 0.2% cream. I used it is once a day (since Tuesday) before bed and put on a thin layer. However this morning when I work up the mark was redder and i noticed on the outside of the red mark my skin is a lighter white shade! If i had known that this cream changes the pigment of your skin i never would've used it!

I washed my face and let the air get at it for awhile today and now I'm putting on triple antibiotic ointment (similar to neosporin) to the red part which helped prior to using the cream.

Has this happened to anyone before? Or does anyone have any advice on how to get my face back to normal? I'd really really appreciate it!

anyone??? please i really need help..i have this medium size red circle on my cheek and i can't stop crying over it..please please please help me
 
Have you checked what kind of preservatives are in the creams you are using? I know that my doctor has directed me to use different products with sulfate preservatives and these usually make my skin red. You might want to see if the benzoyl peroxide and hydrocortisone both have a common preservative or additive that you may be reacting to. Then maybe you could try to find an alternative without this ingredient. For allergic reactions also, (I don't know if this would work for you) but sometimes going to the tanning bed will help. I know it sounRAB weird, but I had a red mark from an allergic reaction a while ago and my dermatologist directed me to do this. Don't overdo it of course. Just a couple visits will do the trick usually. If you have real fair or reactive skin though I might forgo this and just go back to the doctor.
 
Are you prone to eczema? I know that many products irritate my skin and cause redness, scaliness, discomfort (symptoms of ezcema). My dermatologist prescribed Elidel cream. It works within a couple of days.
