I think the lever would work. Wouldn't take near as much dexterity as turning the lock screw.

I've installed a Vista cruise on every bike I've owned the last 25 years. They make one special for Harleys. You can get them many places, this link came up on google.

Heres what I got I love it it works good little tricky to install but well worth it and if was crappy I would be the first to tell you!

I use a throttle lock device I think it was called a chicken foot. Somebody else bought off ebay for 16.00 works sort of like the ones on the above link. Not great but does give me a chance to rest my hand and think it's the best $16.00 I've spent on the bike.
Kroozeabout.

I have wrist and grip issues due to past injuries and had both the throttle locker and the palm rest on the metric I traded in for my '05 UC. Both were OK. I used the locker out on the interstate and the palm rest type around town.

I use these. http://www.coolsac.com/ProductGroup.aspx?page=1&SKU=324-401ccgripgrp&category_code=GRIPS
Work very nice. Since my cc module is bad on mine, this was cheaper.

If the tension screw on your throttle works ok, then adding the throttlelocklever will work well for you. Mine didn't. I had to disassemble the throttle and replace a part inside.
The kit comes with the necessary part.
It works great now.

I found mine at a rally for around $5.
