Anyone ever use an aftermarket throttle locker?

The ones that I've seen are basicly a locking band by the switch housing. I plan to upgrade to factory cruise but it's gonna be a little bit and I figured this would get me by and save my hand. I have carpal tunnel and arthritis and my hand goes dead alot which is starting to be a safety hazard.

My brother put one on his VTX and it works, but not nearly as good as cruise control. Just kind of difficult to use and kind of muddies up the grip area. He has some issues with his wrist too, so his hand fall asleep after riding too much.

It works, after modification with a Dremel tool. For the delivered price I'd expect a chrome finish.
Would I buy another? Doubtful...

I recommend you use a throttle rocker. Much less effort to keep your speed steady. I used the throttle lock screw on my 03 Sporty, but did not have 100% confidence it would not get stuck. I have the cruise control on my 09 Roadie, but I don't use it much because the throttle rocker works well.

I've used them years ago and they work ok on flat straight roads. Not the greatest but it will help until you can pony up for the real deal.

Thanks. I use a throttle rocker but my hand still goes numb. I just need something to lock it so I can take a hand off and get the blood back to flowing for a bit. When it does this I cant move it or feel anything so I can't turn the lock wheel. I couldn't ride without the throttle rocker.

Here's an idea that I haven't seen around here.
I had these on my Buell XB12S and they worked really well.

It will work with pre TBW type setups like yours.
The end weights themselves help with the dead arms anyway.
The weight at the very end of the bar makes a big difference in felt vibration when you ride any distance.
You just curl your pinky finger around the end and turn it back slightly , this engages the friction.
They never get tight enough to lock the throttle from a quick decell if you need to.
My brother uses this setup with a cramp buster http://www.crampbuster.com/ and it really helps with his hands also.
I run Kuryakyn ISO grips which have the throttle boss , and this helps a little anyway.
