Anyone ever brought DVD

How weird - I did the same with Little Britain - got rid of it at a booter a year ago. Think it was over exposed by Gold or Dave, and only really liked Lou and Andy.

One DVD I bought but could not get into was 'The Lovers' with Richard Beckinsale.

Shame - because he is brilliant in everything else.

The Office. I didn't see it as it was broadcast, but saw the DVD at a very good offer. If I hadn't listened to all the hype I'd have been those few quid better off :)

Yes. Last Christmas, I bought the complete set of Home Improvement, a US sitcom, for my husband who was a big fan. We watched a couple of episodes and he thought they were rubbish (I have always thought this) In the end we gave them to a charity shop.

Yes, Will & Grace :p

I have a whole shelf just full of W&G DVRAB but i can't get rid of them because i paid so much for them. They take up so much room too because they only put 4 episodes in each DVD case.

I tried watching one a while back and couldn't believe how awful it was :o

I bought the first series of Boston Legal a few months back (I'd already seen it) but I just cannot be bothered watching them for some reason! It's still a great show though!

Plenty of Simpsons videos on the shelf as well.

I mentioned on another thread that I sold my Spitting Image DVD's. I sort of regret buying them, as I ended up fast forwarding them a lot and the majority of stuff I just couldn't find funny.

Home Improvement was another one, I loved it back in 2006-7, but then they stopped releasing the DVD's in the UK. They suddenly released Series 4 after a long hiatus, I bought it, but only watched it once, as I then saw they weren't releasing anymore.

I used to only have the first series of London's Burning and the first three series of ER. I thought I'd regret buying those, but having gotten more into those shows, I love them! I now have the first five series of both shows, and if they continue to surprise and entertain me, I will continue to buy the box sets.

I have done this loaRAB but i've been lucky to sell them
I had the whole lot of x files and while re watching this year, i forgot how shit it got after series 3 so i sold the whole lot for 50 quid. I paid a 100 pound for them all so i thought to be fair, i will half the price and they were second hand after all

I had series 1-3 of supernatura; because the first 3 series rocked but after that, the show got worse so i got rid of them and it ruined the show for me as a whole.

I regret buying my doctor who dvd's (i don't hate the show but it's lost that re watchable factor for me now) and i feel majorly ripped off because they are expensive dvd's when brought at the time. I will find some way of getting rid of them

Looking back, i have wasted an awful amount of money over the years and it makes me feel awful

I have all the series of Little Britian (Except USA), the live shows and Comic Relief episodes, and I wateched an episode of series 1 the other day and thought what was I thinking, this is crap. I probably got caught up in all the hype thinking it was good, eyt every episode really was the same as the last.

Another thing is the amount of films I own, yet would only ever watch them once, it has to be a really good film for me to watch it a few times. Strangley enough even though I wouldnt say comedy was my faviroute film genre I find it easier to watch those films again and again. Even stuff like the Police Academy fims ive watched a few time (On five- im not sad enought o actually buy those DVRAB :P).

Don't worry, you're not alone. I bought Doctor Who Series 1 + 2. I've watched them through probably twice, but now I never watch them. Like you say, it loses its rewatchability factor and I'm just not that into it anymore!

Same for Little Britain. I have Series 1-3, watched them loaRAB when I got them but they've been sitting on my shelf for a year or so now and I haven't rewatched them.

We bought the Roswell complete boxset - what a mistake! Terrible writing, terrible acting. Fortunately I got it fairly cheap on Amazon, and was able to offload it for virtually the same price secondhand on ebay.

Bought the first season of Alias recently, and while it's not quite as putrid as Roswell, we're just not feeling the love after half a dozen episodes.

I bought the second season of The Simpsons like a decade ago now, and barely watch the show anymore(even on tv), and i've not touched the DVD's in probably 5-6 years.

I also bought the first season of How I Met Your Mother, watched the DVD's once and have never watched them again. I watch the show on TV, but i already know i'm never buying another boxset of it, as its just not funny enough compared to other comedies like The Big Bang Theory.

The saving factor for me is that i'm always very prudent with money and buying DVD's. I'm still waiting for Bones Season 4 to drop to around

I have the simpsons dvRAB but i really will never watch them again!! The frsh prince... i liked it at the time, but its just too old now :s Supernatural, i loved the first series, so i got the rest on dvd before id seen them and its just crap now :(

Companies rely on people buying current shows they are watching which is why they release new series the instant they are off the screen.

Personally I think these people are odd because when I've just finished watching something on tv the last thing I want to do is go out and buy it the next day and watch it again.

By the time I'm ready for a repeat viewing the prices have dropped nicely and I'll buy it.

But there are obviously plenty of fad buyers who don't stop to consider if the show will still be watchable years down the line.

I do have several dvd's that I may never watch complete again but these are of series I last saw 30 or 40 years ago and have been wating a lifetime to see again.

Although some of these vintage shows disappoint I don't regret buying them and because I've waited decades to see them again I doubt I could sell them either

I think I've only ever watched 2 or 3 Simpsons episodes from start to finish in my life although I saw clips of hundreRAB as my kiRAB got me to tape them all years ago.

The tapes went many moons ago and I decided I would try and get into the series from the start.

I've bought series 1 and 3 so if you have any others you want to flog at ludcrously cheap prices PM me
