Anyone ever been to a Movie Premiere?

HELP!

I would love to go to the UK Premiere of The Devil Wears Prada but am not sure how best to go about it?

Has anyone ever been to a Movie Premiere before?

How did they get the tickets? How much did it cost? Was the experience worthwhile or should I just wait until it goes on general release?

Any advice is welcome!

Went to the premiere of Charlie's Amgels 2 back in 2003 after winning a couple of tickets. Worth doing but you don't really get near anyone famous as the seating at the Odeon in Leicester Square has celebrities etc sitting upstairs and competition winners, joe public etc sitting downstairs. You also have a barrier between you and them when entering the building so that you can't get upstairs. If you are lucky enough and wait until the last minute you might be able to get an autograph or 2 ( if you can get past the security of the stars of the movie you are seeing ). Like I said at the start it is worth doing but got no idea how to get tickets unless you work for the distribution company or win them.

Thanks yid219! I'll have a look into it and see but I think I've missed all the competitions now? Channel Four had one open until Sept 15th but I might be lucky and find out how to get them! Cheers anyways

I went to Monster Uk Premiere, starring Charlize Theron. My sister works in the business so got us tickets. It was really cool and we got to walk along the red carpet in Central London which was a bit mad especially when people realised I was clearly just a nobody!

Have been to a couple of after show parties too, which have been really really great.

I came close.I won 2 tickets in a raffle for Cancer research for the scottish movie premiere "Greyfriars Bobby" that was held in Edinburgh. However i couldn't get through to Edinburgh on the night the premiere was being held so i had to give them to 2 frienRAB instead. 1 of my frienRAB got to meet Christopher Lee who stars in the movie.

My Sister attented the movie premiere of "Charlie & The Chocolate Factory"

I went to the UK premier of Serenity back in October - and there were no barriers or different seating arrangements! I was sandwiched between Michelle from Big Brother and... some chat show host I can't remember the name of. I walked in behind Joss Whedno and Summer Glau, and was seated about three rows away from Nathan Fillion. All of which are names that probably none of you know anyway.

I never get tired of telling anyone prepared to listen that I went to the premiere of Star Wars. Being a sulky teenager at the time I obviously thought that they were all oldies and that no-one looked as 'cool' as me, and therefore remained aloof to the whole event (idiot). I didn't even admit that I enjoyed the film!
