I still haven't bothered to see Avatar, almost everybody i know has seen it, some say its amazing, others a letdown.

Is is worth renting? Or only good on the big screen?

Anyone else still not seen this?

I've not seen it..my hubby got it from our neighbour to watch and he said it was ok..he wasn't raving about it though so that put me off all the more

Haven't seen it and probably won't unless it turns up on the telly and there's nothing better on. I'm not really a James Cameron fan, I liked The Terminator but most of his other movies have good effects and crap stories and are seriously overhyped.

Another who hasn't seen it and has no interest in doing so. I think the only way I'll see this film is if I'm at someones house and they want to see it and put it on.

I've seen it, purely because of the hype.

IMO it wasn't anything special and nothing you haven't seen before in respect of the storyline. It's just visually quite beautiful and one of those films that you want to be able to say you've seen. Not sure whether it has the same impact at home (compared to the cinema).

Off topic, I know but a short review of 2012;

1st viewing = great cheesy disaster flick
2nd viewing = s'alright
3rd viewing = hmmm, bit rubbish really.

I've seen it in 3D at the flics and on blueray at home in 2D and enjoyed it both times immensely. Recommend it to anyone as a magnificent achievement in film craft.

*raises hand*

When I mentioned to an acquaintance of mine that I hadn't seen it, his response was "How can you not have seen it? Everybody has seen it!" I thought I was the only one. :D

That said I do have it on my rental list on lovefilm so I expect to see it pretty soon, although I'm not in a rush to do so.

I haven't either.

A preachy Pocahontas style story in space doesn't float my boat and CGI, no matter how snazzy isn't going to wow the jaded computer gamer in me.
