Just been to see it(last night),while I was blown away with the 3d effect in Avatar this film to be honest did not need it(it seemed way to dark not as in tone but not very bright and colourful as i would expect) and in my opinion added no value to the whole film.My 13 yr old daughter liked it a lot but I thought it was slightly mediocre and not an out & out blockbuster.Technically it was Charlie and the chocolate factory in Wonderland maybe I am just getting to old for this:o

Got free tickets via Sky 3D and went to the local cineworld where they showed live footage from leicester square of the actors waiting for Charles and Camilla, then they showed the film but not before checking everyones bags for cameras and telling everone to turn off mobile phones or they will be ejected.Suprised that no one else has posted on the forum about it as there must be quite a few people on here registered with Sky who would have got the email about free tickets.P.s I hope you enjoy it too but it seemed it was not exactly my cup of tea:cry: ah well at least it did not cost me anything:)

I saw it! I thought it was better than I expected it to be, I was expecting it to be a bit like Charlie and The Chocolate Factory which I'm not that keen on but it was way better. I liked the red carpet stuff, never seen that before at a free screening. The 3D wasn't amazing but it was good. Highlights have to be the Cheshire Cat and Alan Rickman as the caterpillar.

the reason it didn't look as good in 3D as avatar is because it wasn't originally meant to be a 3D film. It was filmed in 2d and then converted (probably after disney realised how much extra 3d films were making).

The reviews have been pretty mixed.

Some say it was really good and Burton/Depp at their best, some say it's good but nothing special.

One said it was the most disappointing wait of 2010.

Yeah, they did, but then i think it was the mirror (or star, either one, not sure) gave it 4/5. Also online i read one review that said it was poor...1 that said it was really good.

So looks like a love it/hate kinda film.

I'm thinking about seeing it, i'm surprised that there isn't a review of it yet on RAB.

I'll wait till i see more reviews and decide wether to see it or not

I thought slumdog was rubbish too....I find all the films that are overhyped,i'm dissappointed with because they don't live up to my expectation. Still want to see this so i'm going to go and make my own mind up:)

I went the other way with Slumdog M, I thought it was being over-hyped and was not expecting much.
And then I ended up really enjoying it, well 7/10 anyway.

As for Alice, it's not my type of film anyway. I just think I would have seen it all before along with the same old Burton/Depp twist.:)
