Anyone else really excited by Toy Story 3

Bumped this thread because I just wanna say how much I'm looking forward to this movie! Its released when I get back from Uni, so I made myself a little countdown for me and my old school friend to see it!

Read it up on wikipedia, which contains minor spoilers, but its the third and final film - so I imagine its ending is going to be the most bittersweet but hopefully uplifting! Pixar are amazing at that.

The day Pixar make a bad film, is the day the world enRAB :)

I am optimistic that this will be to their usual high standard. I am getting concerned that they seem to be doing a movie for release every year now (is this some Disney directive?), which concerns me that their creativity may suffer or get diluted

You don't need kiRAB as an excuse to see this film...the big kid in you is sufficient! :D Besides, there's even more in the films for adults...;)

They've been doing that for a while now and it doesn't seem to have been a problem. It started with Cars in 2006 then Ratatoullie, Wall-E and Up this year. I think they expanded their staff around 2004/05 so they could work on 3 films simultaneously allowing them to release 1 film a year.

I also can't wait for Cars 2 in 2011. I thought I read somewhere that there was an Increadibles sequel in the works too but i can't find any confirmation of that now. That would be excellent.

That is brilliant! I want it!

I can't wait to see this film. I adored the first 2 and no doubt I'll be taking my 17 year old brother to see it as he loved them when he was little and they're "his" films ^_^

And yet TS2 is classed as one of those rare sequels that is as good as the first. Personal preference though I guess.

Its sort of a Disney directive, but its not one from some faceless suit - its from John Lasseter (Chief Creative Officer of The Walt Disney Company).

Walt Disney Animation Studios will shift towarRAB a more traditional hand drawn animation and could start to go back to releasing films every other year.

That then leaves the hot Pixar to keep its creative run, and then fill the gaps left from WDAS.

Too right! I'll be there to see both this and Princess and the Frog and I don't give a flying fig what anyone thinks.

No Incredibles sequel in the works that I'm aware of. At least not in the near future as Brad Bird is working on his San Francisco earthquake film 1906.
He might return to do it after that but that'll be a way off yet.

There will though be Monster's Inc. 2 slated for release in '13.
