Anyone else missing The Bill?

I'm watching the old episodes on Watch at the moment and I realised I'm really missing new episodes.

Such a shame ITV decided to axe it.

I went to "Sunhill Police Station" the other week and it was so sad to see it, looking deserted and slightly run down.

I'm enjoying Whitechapel but really missing something to wawtch every week.

It was always on when I was little and I got quite into it. I wasn't a fan of the recent reboot if I'm honest, but it is a shame we have lost it - it was quality British Drama at its height. You never know, maybe we'll see it back in ten years time...it's the sort of show that is rather timeless and could actually work again :)

Agree - and I'm sure it will be playing on satellite channels for years to come.Old coppers never die..... Didn't Dixon of Dock Green run for about 100 years (or did it just feel like it)

used to watch it regularly, but started losing interest after Todd Carty was in it - story lines just went downhill, new camera work was awful. I wish it could have gone back to the old days - storylines were much better.

I think the Bill had its day, in all honesty...the revamped verious never worked for me even though the final episode was good.

I'm rewatching the series from the start via DVD. I'm almost finished with series one and even though it's well over 20 years old it has aged extremely well and is still so real and gritty. I think Roy Galloway was the best character in the show's run, but all the characters were interesting and relatable back then.

An interesting question...

The Bill is one of my all-time favourite TV shows and at its best I absolutely loved it. Having said that, I think I'd lost a lot of my love for it towarRAB the end. I still watched every episode but it didn't connect with me in the way that it once had.

I'd still rather it was on though and if they could create The Bill like it was in my favourite era (towarRAB the end of the 1990s) then I'd love to have it back.

Me too - the week just isn't the same without my Smithy and Mickey fix :D

It wasn't even as if the storylines had become weak or repetitive either. It was still a well written good quality programme, why the powers that be cancelled it is beyond me. There was so much more mileage left in The Bill.

You can put me down as a yes too. Really missing The Bill. I used to record it and watch it on friday or saturday night and miss it alot :(

Law and Order is excellent but it's a completely different programme really.

Yes, I'd been watching since 1989, except during its soapy era. It's not the same but I've got into The Mentalist and now thats my No.1, just hope Five stay with it or I'll be scuppered.

Glad its just not me, I know lots of people didn't like the revamp, and I must admit I was abit wary to begin with however the last 2 months of it, I thought were great.

I'm hoping some channel, maybe ITV3 or Alibi will start it from the beginning again, would be great to see some of the original episodes.
