Anyone else like Dalton as Bond?

I personally thought QOS was a poor copy of License to Kill even down to the final scenes. When will they learn that big explosions do not equal a better film! I think in the right film Craig will be an excellent Bond and is remeniscent of Dalton, but for me Dalton's two films were the best of the whole series. They set a trend for gritty, realistic action films which have only just reached their peak with the Bourne trilogy and Craig's films. You could argue that without Dalton as Bond there would not have been a Die Hard series or the Harrison Ford 'Jack Ryan' films.
 
Dalton was always my favorite bond. He played a more edgy and realistic person - than the overly suave and jokey Connery and Moore. I think Daniel Craig's bond has much more in common with Daltons bond than any of the others - and thats no bad thing.
 
I know you'll probably know this but it should be noted for more casual observers that Licence to Kill bombed mainly because of marketing problems due to the change of title for the film.
 
I would say Connery got a good balance between grit and humour but Moore was plain ridiclous in trying for laughs.
 
I loved the Timothy Dalton Bond films Licence to kill one of my favourites.

I think people werent ready for that sort of bond stright after the tongue in cheek Moore and it was just too diferent, it was ahead of its time really and i was always surprised the 2 films never did aswell at the box office
