Anyone else finding Lovefilm quite sluggish at the moment?

Impressed posted back Tuesday and Wednesday my next disc is being released. First in a long time for this service.
Yea still have not cancelled. Just everytime I do get a disc I'm really glad of the selection sent. Plus you get a graet opportunity to rent old/rare films.

I have used Lovefilm for a couple of years now and only had the odd problem which has always been resolved. I can send a disc back on a Monday morning and have a new one on Wednesday morning. Some have been scratched but I report them and then they credit you.

If you only want to watch certain films all you have to do is keep your wanted list short - ie less than 10 films. I have about 200 on mine as there are plenty of films I want to watch and I am not fussy about always getting the very latest releases.

Damn...I didn't know that I could get a 90 day free trial. :o

Oh well too late now... that's that up in the air.

..and Jimmy that's a good idea..downgrading to the

I would hate not being able to control what movies they send you?

What if your a middle aged man who loves war and action movies, and then they send him the Hannah Montanna Movie.

I got a disc from them this morning after waiting almost a week for it and it was really dirty and kept skipping.

I hope they quickly send out sunshine because I'd really like to have it for the weekend if possible.

I agree about the brillo pad cleaning - the amount of scratches on some of them is ridiculous - it often looks like they used a chisel on them just to finish them off.
Also I had a lot of white chalky substance on a few of them - I complained and just got a email saying - they are renewing their stock all the time - Well it certainly did not look like it.

After my initial post here complaining about their service, I decided to put it in writing to them. And wow, they were really apologetic and sent me out three in the post 2 says later. So I have to say that the response that I got was immediate and they were really helpful.

So in that respect, I retract what I said about their initial sluggishness. Seems like they really don't want to lose any triallers. :)

I don't know about other people, but all the films on my list are films I WANT TO SEE... doesn't matter what order they come in, I seem to do pretty well getting all the films at the top of my list from Blockbusters online.

Humm...

Cheaper(the amount I rent online a month is a lot cheaper than if I rented the same at the rental shop)

Free delivery(I don't drive, and I'm not paying

Oh yes been with them for about the same time as you. Lucky to get one disc a week now. Keep meaning to cancel my account. I know they have a habit of telling you a disc has already been despatched, before they can cancel they have to have the disc back. I am going to delete all my rental choices when I return the next film and cancel.

I've found them great over the last 2 yrs- usually get the top choice, always get something in the top 5 if not. Turn-around times are ~2-3 days.

RegarRAB,
I'm alright Jack :D

I've been running a Lovefilm free trial against my old Cinema Paradiso subscription. The LF turnaround of discs is faster than CP. Not by much, but I think it's been post one day, receive and send new discs the next day, every week throughout the trial.

CP is more variable, sometimes turning around in 2 days (same as LF), sometimes 3.

I certainly intend to stay with LF and cancel CP when the trial period enRAB.

Im with Blockbuster (5 at a time) and Lovefilm (3 at a time) at the moment, and both are doing a very good job with turnarounRAB.

I have been a member of Amazon then was transferred to LF almost 2 years ago, up until early Feb I had no complaints about the service I was receiving, since then turnaround times have been terrible eg. posting my discs back Monday & best case they are not being returned until Thurs (sometimes Fri), I have rang & emailed them several times but am getting no joy, there is a thread over on AV Forums about this (Google: Lovefilm slow turnaround) & lots are having the same problems

Well here's a turn up for the books. I put a disc in the post-box yesterday and it has already reached Lovefilm, been process, with the new disc on its way.

Maybe Lovefilm have been stalking me on rabroad

Just starting a 90 day free trial. Made a list of 55 Blu-Rays , and don't mind what order they come in. If i'm impressed with Lovefilm , i'll pay monthly in 3 months . If i'm not i'll cancel ,having paid nothing , but having seen maybe 20 - 30 Blu- Rays for free :D
